Welcome to Ms. Spencer's 2nd grade Class!
My name is Jodee Spencer and I am so thrilled to be your child’s teacher this year! Our journey this year will be full of new and meaningful experiences. I’m excited to work with your child to help them become successful in and out of the classroom. I truly believe that children learn best by doing and being involved. I also believe in teaching the "whole" child. Your child will definitely learn a lot of life lessons this year as I relate everything we do in class to the world and to their future. I hope to have an open line of communication with all of you this year, so please do not hesitate to contact me with any questions or concerns you may have.

We use Class Dojo!
In D-102, we use ClassDojo to encourage important skills like staying on task, participation, and respecting others. ClassDojo is a point system that rewards good behaviors. Students receive points for following the classroom expectations and rules. Students who are not following classroom expectations and rules will have points deducted- however, students can always earn points back!
ClassDojo allows students to monitor their behavior in class, and for parents to monitor student behavior from home. ClassDojo allows the teacher to communicate with parents by instantly sharing messages, and behavior updates from the class. It is the easiest way for you to see how your child is doing at school, and to get in touch with me.
